I'm glad I did because I was asked to stick the Weekender into a measuring device, it juuuust passed. For Costa Rica I kept the bottom compartment on and it was all was good. "The Convertible Mini Weekender in Black was highly recommended to me by two well-traveled friends. However, I think the bag is much too heavy. It is sturdy enough to check if required but very heavy for a carry-on. And the lower zip-off section was awkward to zip back on - I guess you should only remove it if you plan to carry the bag as an impromptu purse. I haven't traveled with the bag yet, but I will trust my friends and try it. You may wonder why I am even keeping it - the return policy is not free (shipping + $10)!"
